The complete range of Cecchetti syllabi is offered from Primary to Advanced and Diploma with additional unset classes.
There are three main events in the year for students. At the last class before Christmas, the classes are open to parents to observe progress, followed by a wee party for the children. At the end of February there is an exam session of five days and in June there is a theatrical performance, while pre-school children have their own event.
All Cecchetti classes have live piano accompaniment.
Students have performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Burell Collection, Queen’s Cross Church, Scottish Ballet’s Robin Anderson Theatre, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and the Tramway at the invitation of PeaceArts, the Hunterian Gallery as part of the Whistler Exhibition, and the Mackintosh Festival.
Pupils are regularly accepted for the Junior, Mid and Senior Associates Scheme of Scottish Ballet, also to the Dance School of Scotland, Knightswood and the associate scheme of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Former pupils have subsequently trained at the Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet School and Central Ballet School.
Currently former pupils have gone on to dance with Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet and Moulin Rouge in Paris.
